Billy Mack Thingy has probably impacted my life more than any other band. The "Songs About Angels, Evil, and Running Around on Fire" album expressed my darkest feelings better than I ever could. the way I structure songs, write lyrics, and experience feelings are all intrinsically tied to this band. I am so grateful that Elea Tenuta shared her voice and talents with us in her years on earth. My life is substantially better for it. My heart breaks for her family and friends and I send my best wishes. Favorite track: Jackie Chan Is No Longer A Punk Rocker (1998).

This is an EP to benefit the family of Elea Tenuta, who lost her battle with cancer in early 2021, leaving behind her partner Glen and their son Archer. 100% of funds go directly to Elea's family.

"We used to open shows in the later period of Thingy with Cough Cool to set the mood. The Powerdresser song was written by Denver Lucas, another very close friend of ours that passed way too early. JCINLAPR was written around the time of Rush Hour, Face/Off, and Martial Law. Everyone mentioned in the song went on to do great stuff since then.
I was just being cranky.

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
